local elections in waalre

Results

March 3rd 2010, local elections were held in Waalre and everywhere else in the Netherlands.
Of the 17 seats to be distributed here, D66 has now 2. That doubles our score of 4 years ago, the last local elections. A result that we are proud of! Also in the communes around us (Valkenswaard, Veldhoven, Heeze-Leende) D66 is now well represented. And of course in Eindhoven where D66 has a bigger representation than ever with 5 people in the council.
So thank you for voting for D66! And do not hesitate to contact us with your questions, ideas and/or suggestions.

On behalf of D66 Waalre,

Kees de Zeeuw
Joke Beuger

Why D66?
D66 has a different view than many other traditional parties. Here are the five indicators of our progressive, social-liberal vision:
Trust in people’s own power: individual strength remains the core motivator
Think and act internationally: not xenophobic, but truly open to other cultures, religions and experiences
Reward performance and share wealth: liberal, but not protectionist
Work towards a sustainable and harmonious society: living together, with a long-term outlook on growth
Cherish our civil rights and shared values: democracy as core value

What is D66?
D66 is a party with a strong international character. D66 supports a
sustainable, democratic and open society, not only in The Netherlands but worldwide. Human rights and free and fair elections are essential in this global perspective, they constitute the basis for a democratic society. D66 works together with fraternal partners (political parties and civil society organisations) in order to support democratisation processes abroad. This cooperation takes place via the following avenues:

- The D66 foundation Internationaal Democratisch Initiatief (IDI)
supports liberal democratic parties and civil society organisations in Central and Eastern Europe and Turkey.

- Democratic processes in Africa, Asia and Latin-America are supported by D66 through its involvement in Netherlands Institute for Multiparty Democracy (NIMD).

- D66 is a member of the European Liberal Democrats (ELDR)

- D66 is a member of Liberal International (LI)
